Everything in my yard is finally blooming! It is blanketed with so much color from one end to the other! I love it!

I wanted to bring some of that Springtime color into the house especially for the evenings. This is when I thought of these luminaries. I was very excited to make this but I do have to warn you that it is quite time consuming.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing. This is a great project to work on if you are somewhere where you need to pass some time! It’s also great if you just need to decompress and want to relax!

With that said, I present to you the Quilled Springtime Luminary!
What materials will I need?
A jar
Tea light candle
What kind of jar should I use?
I used an empty jam jar that was just about to go into the recycling. But really, any jar can be used including empty pasta jars, cleaned out candle holders—if you like it then use it! Just remember, the bigger the the jar is, the longer this project will take!
How should I start?
Start rolling your paper in to various shapes. I integrated a few flowers and leaves into my luminary. As my project came underway, I made a few shapes and immediately glued them onto my jar. After a while I increased the volume of quilled shapes and then attached them—just to make sure everything was where I wanted it the first time around.
Once the surface was completely covered, I wrapped some brown jute twine around the threads of the jar and dropped in a tea light candle. I used a real candle, but of course a battery operated one would work just as well.

It’s a beautiful piece to look at in the evening! I may just have to make a few more in the near future!
