But first, tea! Yes! I highly agree with that! Tea. So relaxing and yummy.

I start every morning off with a cup of tea. And every afternoon with another cup. Needless to say, I have a lot of tea laying around the house!

However, for a while I had one big problem. All these individual boxes of tea were crowding my countertops! And not only that-they looked kind of tacky!

A solution for my tea drinking habit was much to be desired! And then, one day it came to me! A tea box! But not just any tea box! A free tea box made from materials I already had!

And so it began, a craft project that ultimately provided much value to me once it was complete!

The Box

I wanted to make a tea box as a kind of go-to while I keep the main stash in a drawer and out of sight. In all honesty, the main stash is just too much to keep out. It would just look unbecoming.

So this little box was created to house a week or two worth of tea bags and to be kept in the spotlight.

It looks cute and creates enough interest that it really deserves to be out.

And when I get tired of the paper, I can easily make another and continue keeping it in its place! Good deal!

A basic box with a lot of responsibility

The box will hold my favorite teas – Green, Turmeric, Lemon and more. It was important to me that it could hold a large variety of teas without being so big that it consumed too much space! It was a simple project that was fairly quick to complete! I’ll show you. . .

Materials

Thick Cardstock
Light weight decorative paper
A ruler
Glue
Adhesive Vinyl Lettering

Boxing it up

Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 12”x 12.”
Use a ruler to draw out a cross with each line measuring 3 1/4 all the way around as shown.
Next, draw an additional border around the cross 1/4” wide and cut it out.
