Thanksgiving Utensil Sleeves

Got a little extra time to fine-tune your Thanksgiving Day Feast tablescape? I’ll admit, I’ve never made these before until this year. However I do like to make sure everything looks fresh and full of new interest for each holiday!

In come the Thanksgiving Utensil Sleeves! I love these because it adds a little more pizazz to the table at dinner time and they are super easy to make!

Let’s begin!

  1. Like most projects, if you’re a little unsure, grab a piece of printer paper to make a throw away prototype first.

  2. Otherwise, you will need an 8.5” x 6 ¼” piece of card stock. If it is bigger, that’s fine because you will be cutting it down to size once the measurements are marked. Follow the guidelines in the picture below:

3. Now that you paper is marked, cut it out and apply the folds as required.

4. Once this step is complete, glue the folded tabs on the edges and seal up the right and bottom sides of the sleeve.

5. You’ve now created a basic utensil sleeve! Yay!

Let’s Decorate!

  1. I chose to emboss all six sleeves. Although I used various colors of card stock, I kept the style the same with each piece.

2. I grabbed some layering dies and cut out two pieces that I stacked with foam squares to create some additional dimension.

3. Then I decided to print out the word “Thankful” on my Dymo label maker and cut it down to size before adhering it to the top layered die cut.

4. Moving on, I took some brown twine and made a simple bow at the bottom of each sleeve. I added a dot of glue between the bottom center of the bow and the paper to ensure that it will stay in place.

5. Lastly I added some glitter dots to different sections of the front of the sleeve and let everything dry.

6. Now the sleeves are all done and ready to be a part of this year’s Thanksgiving feast! I can’t wait!
