SPOOKY PAPER SPIDER WEBS

I have to admit—one of the spiders on these webs made me jump the other night when I wasn’t paying attention. The room was fairly dark and at a glance I saw a big spider on my door! Of course, half a second later I realized what I was looking at! Haha!

These webs are kind of like the equivalent of making the paper snowflakes we made as kids – but for Halloween.

It’s a fairly simple process and the spiders are even more simple to make! Yay!

Let’s get to it, shall we?

  • Start with a piece of paper (thinner paper is recommended).
  • Fold it over and cut the edge off leaving a perfect square

  • Fold it in half making a triangle.

  • Fold it in half again making another triangle.
  • Fold one side over creating an excess triangle shape on the top.

  • Cut that excess piece off.

  • Draw out a cutting guide.

  • Start cutting along your guide. Take your time. It is very easy to cut the web in half by accident.
  • Carefully open your web and flatten in out.

  • All done!

LET’S DECORATE

How to make the spiders

  • Use some puff paint to draw out your preferred spider shapes on a piece of parchment  paper.

  • Let the spiders dry completely and gently peel them off of the paper.

  • Glue the spiders onto the web and attach the web to a window and see who you can frighten first!
