For this tutorial I wanted to enhance a card that I already posted –the layered aperture card. But this time, I decided to make it a little more fun—a Pop Out Aperture card!
With so many birthdays this time of year, I wanted to get things ready early! So here we go!
The Basics
The foundation of this card only requires 3 pieces of cardstock, a few simple folds and some glue! Easy enough, right?
I used three different colors of cardstock to make it a little more interesting.Â
Â
Materials
3 pieces of cardstock measuring 12” x4.5,” 8”x4.5,” and 6”x4.5”
Glue
Your preferred sentiments to decorate
Craft drops in various colors
Circular dies or a computerized paper cutting machine like a Silhouette or Cricut.
Instructions
Fold the 12” x 4.5” piece of cardstock in half from left to right so that it opens like a book
Score the 2 smaller pieces of cardstock on both ends at ½” and 1”
Using your preferred paper cutting tools, cut out 2 aperture circles in the 2 smaller pieces of cardstock. Make sure they they can overlap evenly. Then cut out 3 circles from top to bottom on the right side of the 8”x4 ½” piece.Â
Now carefully glue the ends of each piece of cardstock and attach them!
Let’s Decorate!
I found some birthday clipart, printed it out and attached them to the card. I also included one picture of a gift to add to the inside of the card for a little surprise!
Then I dotted the front of the card with the craft drops.
All done!
With this card, I was just learning as I went and I think it came out pretty good!Â
