I thought this project was a little nostalgic to my childhood. In school I remember making different variations of Turkey crafts before the Thanksgiving holiday many times.
Something famliar
The nostalgic childhood Paper Turkey Thanksgiving Craft is back
Of course it has been many years since I tried to replicate those projects. I figured, why not try something out now? These are so cute and are a great way to accent your holiday decor! And even better, only a few supplies are needed!
So sweet and so simple
It only takes a few folds and a few dots of glue to bring this turkey to life! And it is truly customizable to fit to your personal liking!
Let's get started
Step 1: Get three pieces of colored cardstock of your choice.
Â
Â
Step 2: Take one piece and fold it back and forth into an accordion shape. Then fold it in half again and cut the top to a point creating a feather look.
Step 3: Glue the sides together to create a fan.
Â
Step 4: Take the second piece of cardstock and do the same thing. Alternately, it can be embossed to create a little more dimension. Cut this cardstock fan a little shorter than the first one and then cut the tip into a point again.
Step 5:Â Attach both pieces front to back on a 2 inch wide piece of chipboard or something similar.
Step 6: Use brown cardstock to cut out the shape of a turkey head and neck and use a die to cut out a circular belly.
Â
Step 7: Glue these together and then glue it right onto the turkey feathers.
Step 8:Â Now glue on some feet and facial features cut out from various scraps (I used some leftover candy eyes for mine!).
Â
Â
Step 9: All done! Now put it up on display! Gobble Gobble! Happy Thanksgiving!
