I had some extra time recently and started playing around with a program called Procreate on my iPad. It’s kind of fun to doodle while trying to relax.
I drew the face of a cat. Then I copied and pasted it again and again. This was looking kind of weird but I kept going.
Maybe I should use this for something? A card? Yes! A weird looking card.
It really didn’t fit much of a special occasion category so I just made it a “Just wanted to say Hello” card. It worked.
So I added the text to my picture and printed it out. I even printed out a few more cat faces for the inside of my card as an extra—hello.
Next, I grabbed an additional piece of cardstock, cut it down to size and folded it in half. Then I glued my images on the front and inside of my card. Not bad. Just something random, weird and possibly uplifting.
Then I found my clear craft drops to add the the cat’s eyes and noses for a little more dimension. Perfect!
I’m holding onto this one for now—at least until I find the perfect person to give it to. Using Procreate, or any drawing program, is definitely a fun way to make cards. It also can make your project much more speedy if you need to make some cards in bulk. Draw and print all at once. Also, don’t forget to check out the card fold tutorials page for more ideas!
