How to Make a Dog Treat Container for Your Best Friend

I have two dogs whom I love dearly. I’ll be the first to admit they are spoiled rotten. From toys to bedding – they have it all and then some. Dog treats included!

We have A LOT of dog treats actually. What dog isn’t excited to open gifts full of treats on their birthday?

And yes, they of course have had an opportunity to sample all of the flavors. This leaves us with several opened bags of treats all shoved into one giant Ziploc bag. Not cute.

I recently bought a bucket of cookies from the bakery (for me and friends –not them) and noticed the container that was holding the cookies screamed “project!!”

But for what?

Cookies for course! But this time for them—not me! A decorated treat bucket would come in handy on a regular basis. And I have plenty of supplies to make it well decorated!

Materials

  1. Big plastic container with a lid

  2. Very lightweight craft paper

  3. Mod Podge and a foam brush

  4. Wide piece of ribbon

  5. Cut outs of bones, a label to indicate what is inside the bucket and any other paper cutouts

  6. Optional: I used my Silhouette to make a vinyl cutout of the wording and used transfer paper to attach it to the container.

  7. Add some gemstones or craft drops for some pizzazz!

So Easy

  1. Rip your paper up into a bunch of small pieces.

  2. Mod Podge it all over your container and add a circular piece to the lid.

3. Next glue the the ribbon around the top of the container.

4. Once dry, Mod Podge all the cutouts onto the dried paper and glue the circular piece of paper onto the lid. Then adhere the wording to the circular piece of paper!

4. And once this is dry, glue on some craft drops!

5. Now introduce the cookie bucket to your pups and they will never let you forget to give them their cookies!
