I have had this sign for a while. In fact, I made it a couple of years ago and still love it as much as I did on day one! The interesting thing about this sign is that it constantly changes with the seasons!
Â
Every season I remove its decorative pieces and replace it with whatever is in season currently. It’s been a great piece that I keep in my living room and change it as necessary.
Â
I thought, before I moved on to a brand new project, I wanted to show you something I already have that regularly stays in use! Since we are currently in Spring and the strawberries outside are ripening, I used this idea in the latest update!
Â
In the Beginning
I started off with a plain piece of wood and painted it a neutral off-white color.
Then I fired up my Silhouette Cameo and cut out one of my my favorite phrases: Home Sweet Home!
Next I glued the lettering and pattern onto my painted wood and sealed the entire front of it with Mod Podge! Beautiful!
Getting Festive
At this point, it was time to decorate—and boy did I make sure to keep up with every passing season. From Thanksgiving to Christmas and all the way through Easter and beyond!
Now it’s time for Spring—and I chose strawberries. I got back onto my Silhouette Cameo and prepared my paper fruit on some mirror paper and plain green cardstock.
Then I added some foam squares to the backs of the berries and attached them onto my sign.
The foam squares make it easy to remove whatever decorative sentiment is in use later to make room for the next latest and greatest!
I hope this gives you some inspiration for your next sign project! This is one of my favorites and sharing this one has been a delight!
