Ever-Changing Home Sweet Home Sign

I have had this sign for a while. In fact, I made it a couple of years ago and still love it as much as I did on day one! The interesting thing about this sign is that it constantly changes with the seasons!

Every season I remove its decorative pieces and replace it with whatever is in season currently. It’s been a great piece that I keep in my living room and change it as necessary.

I thought, before I moved on to a brand new project, I wanted to show you something I already have that regularly stays in use! Since we are currently in Spring and the strawberries outside are ripening, I used this idea in the latest update!

In the Beginning

  • I started off with a plain piece of wood and painted it a neutral off-white color.

  • Then I fired up my Silhouette Cameo and cut out one of my my favorite phrases: Home Sweet Home!

  • Next I glued the lettering and pattern onto my painted wood and sealed the entire front of it with Mod Podge! Beautiful!

Getting Festive

  • At this point, it was time to decorate—and boy did I make sure to keep up with every passing season. From Thanksgiving to Christmas and all the way through Easter and beyond!

  • Now it’s time for Spring—and I chose strawberries. I got back onto my Silhouette Cameo and prepared my paper fruit on some mirror paper and plain green cardstock.

  • Then I added some foam squares to the backs of the berries and attached them onto my sign.

  • The foam squares make it easy to remove whatever decorative sentiment is in use later to make room for the next latest and greatest!

I hope this gives you some inspiration for your next sign project! This is one of my favorites and sharing this one has been a delight!

Enjoy!
