I like making these homemade crafty dishwasher magnets. I hate when there isn’t one on the dishwasher and dirty dishes make their way inside and get mixed up with the clean ones. I really hate that. . .
Â
In my house, these magnets have deemed themselves a requirement on my dishwasher. Nobody can be trusted—not even myself! Since the presence of the dishwasher magnet, the contamination has stopped—thank goodness!
Â
Of course you can buy these helpful little items, but they’re much more fun to make. And much cheaper too! A win-win!
Â
For my latest magnet, I took out my magnet paper and a set of layering dies. (You can also get creative by using another magnet you might already have laying around instead of buying magnet paper as well!)
The Foundation
Start by taking out your favorite layering die set and creating a larger die cut with the magnetic paper. Then use the same die and some cardstock to cut out another shape that will be glued onto the magnetic piece. Here are some additional layering dies you might be interested in trying out!
Now use a slightly smaller die from the set to cut out another piece of cardstock that will be glued directly onto the original magnet and die cut.

Clean and Dirty
Now it’s time to cut out our key words –Clean and Dirty along with a divider. You can use a regular printer for this part. Just to make it easier, I used my Dymo Label Maker.
Cut the words down to size and adhere them to the smaller die cut. Now you can decorate it with some sparkly pink glitter dots! This glitter glue is very similar to what I used!
Once it’s all dry, stick it onto your dishwasher and be prepared to keep your clean dishes safe from dirty visitors!
