It is also the time to make that big decision: What kind of Christmas card will I make this year? There will be a huge assembly line! No doubt! What kind of design will I stare at for hours on end? I love to send out Christmas cards to everyone in my address book –so there will certainly be a hefty pile of stamped envelopes!Â
The Complication SituationÂ
Do I want to make a complicated card? Do I want to make a simple card? How about a card that looks complicated to make, but is in fact, very easy to create? Sounds like a plan to me! This card has two cuts and a bunch of folds! As long as you follow the guide, your card recipients will be smiling from ear to ear!
More Decorating
Yes, I’m sure you’ve already decorated your house, your tree is decorated, your doors are decorated–don’t forget to decorate the bathroom! I like when Christmas is everywhere! I want no escape! But one of the most fun things to decorate is the Christmas card! You’ll need lots of pieces to cover your paper creation! So if you have a die cutting machine, a Silhouette Cameo, or a huge collection of Christmas stickers that’s a plus! I like to create a massive pile of shapes first and then I’ll layer them onto each section of the trifold shutter card!
Let’s Get Started
Step one: Get a 6”x12” piece of cardstock. Follow the cuts and folds according to the guide below.
That will complete the basic shape of your card. Easy enough, right?
Step two: The best step – decorating. Find or make a bunch of fun shapes that will be layered onto each section of the card. Don’t forget to include a place to write your greeting!
