Cozy Pumpkin Candles

I still have a bunch of tiny pumpkins and gourds leftover from Halloween. They’re still good and throwing them out is not an option when it comes to this project!

The Plan

Turn your pumpkins into cozy pumpkin candles

Here is some inspiration with two little pumpkins!

These are really simple to make!

The most basic items you will need are the pumpkin, a knife, candle wax, a metal container to make a double boiler with and a wick.

Get Ready

How it's done

Let’s adorn your table with little glowing flames from left to right. And once the candles burn out, then they can finally make their way to the garbage can once and for all!

Cozy Pumpkin Candle

Step 1: Cut the top portion of the pumpkin off and remove all of the seeds. Stick a wick onto the bottom of each pumpkin and place them on top of a sheet of foil. This is to protect your working surface in case of spillage.

Step 2: Add some wax to a double boiler and put it on very low heat (optional: add essential oils for a scented candle). Please research candle making procedures first if you are new to this.

Step 3: Once the wax is melted, carefully pour it into each pumpkin until it is filled up to the top.

Step 4: While the wax is cooling, find some specialty paper to use some layering dies with. Once glued together add some plastic gemstones. This is a sort of place mat for your pumpkin to sit on.

Step 5:  Once the candle is ready, snip the tops of the wicks, add them to your paper place mats and light the wicks! Enjoy!
