It’s not uncommon to be stuck with perfectly good pumpkins after Halloween is over. What do we do? Throw them away? I don’t think so!
We still have Thanksgiving and that is a perfectly good holiday in which pumpkins are still welcome!
And luckily, there are so many projects available for you and your guests to continue enjoying! So let’s get to it!
Find a small pumpkin (or a large one if you dare!) and cut out a circle on the top. Remove all of the seeds. This doesn’t need to be perfect. We just need to make space inside.
2. Next fill your pumpkin with soil almost all the way to the top.
3. Now snap off some small pieces from various succulent plants and push them into the soil. Now you have a basic succulent pumpkin. If you have some small dried flowers available, feel free to add those too! No need to water them. The succulents will last a long time and the pumpkin itself should last a while too. But of course, it won’t last forever.
Let’s decorate!
1. I started by gluing on a variety of flashy gemstones and sequins to add more interest.
2. While those were drying, I used some extra cardstock scraps and layered a couple of pieces including my “Grateful” message.
3. Next I used a hole punch to add a hole to the side and attached it to some brown twine which I wrapped around the pumpkin in layers.
4. All done and ready shine on the Thanksgiving table!
