THE CENTER STEP CARD

I have a birthday card to make for someone special. It is for an old friend I’ve had for many, many years. He is the one who has encouraged me to make this website for the last couple of years or so. I had always declined due to time constraints or lack of confidence to create something that requires so much work.

Well, here we are (Thank you for checking out my website, by the way!). Having finally gotten started, let’s see if he will happen to see his card on here. If not, it will be safe to say that he will receive this card in the mail regardless—with a side note telling him to check out The Center Step Card post. Hehe.

Happy Birthday Brian!

Let’s get started!

  1. Cut out a 6”x12” piece of card stock.

  2. Here is a sketch of how everything is measured. The dotted lines are to be scored and the 2 longer lines will be cut. If you do not have a guillotine paper trimmer then a box cutter or X-Acto knife will work just as well (the blade my guillotine went dull and I didn’t have any replacements at the time—I just used a box cutter. No problemo!)

        3. Fold the paper accordingly. Now you should have an official Center Step Card! Good job!

Let’s Decorate!

  1. I used my Dymo label printer to print out the “Happy Birthday” message. This is a very good tool to have if you need to whip up a card ASAP.

  1. Since this is for a Fall birthday, I got my favorite leaf dies and cut out leaves in various shapes and colors. I embossed a few of them.

  1. After adhering the paper products onto the card, I decided to “confetti” it up with various drops by Nuvo. What’s a celebration without confetti?

  2. Now the card is complete and ready to be shipped off to your favorite birthday person!

  1. Enjoy!

  1. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if
you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates.
I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for
quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like
this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your
blog and I look forward to your new updates.

    1. Hi there! Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it! 🙂 As far as retweeting, I really don’t know, unfortunately. I have only been doing this a few months and am still learning. I’ll pass along any information I come across along the way though. Thanks again and happy holidays!
